Self Help

We encourage all students to explore ways to work towards your own mental and emotional health and wellbeing. Sometimes, this is all the support you need; at other times it complements individual therapy sessions.

'What works' is simply a list of evidence-based activities proven to enhance mood.

Whether you're struggling to cope, feeling low or just need a place to talk, Togetherall can help you explore your feelings in a safe supportive environment.

There are a number of apps and services where you can listen to guided meditations, or short videos that may help to support your mental health.

When you attend for an assessment appointment your counsellor may recommend some resources to assist you with the issue(s) you wish to work on.

Attend a support group in person, or register for an online forum.

Watch online courses, download interactive workbooks, or take control by using recommended apps.

We recommend a series of self-help books that other students have found useful.

Read summary information about symptoms and treatment for common issues, from Mind, the NHS and The Royal College of Psychiatrists.
