Our Services

We offer self-help and online resources, one-to-one therapy, plus as a series of workshops. We can also refer you on to mentoring and physical health support within the University.

The Student Counselling Service is offering services by video call (via Microsoft Teams), in-person, telephone, and email counselling is availble in some cases.

Email counselling involves the client typing their feelings, problems or concerns and sending them by email. The specially trained Email Counsellor reads and responds with a therapeutic reply in a given period of time. This consists of a series of exchanges however is not done ‘live’ like a chat.

Same-Day appointments are available to be booked on the day on weekdays (Monday to Friday). These 20 minute appointments will offer a brief helpful conversation to explore the issue(s) causing difficulty or distress and look at the next best steps to take.

We run presentation workshops on a variety of topics. These are being held online for 2024-25 and are open to all students. You can book a place on a workshop on MyEd.

Our Support for Physical Activity programme can help support mental and emotional health and wellbeing through physical exercise.
