Our Support for Physical Activity programme can help support mental and emotional health and wellbeing through physical exercise.

Recent research has shown that regular exercise is not just good for our physical health, but also for our mental health. It can protect against, as well as treat, conditions like stress and depression. (Jackson, C. Therapy Today 2012; 23 (6): 4-7).

What’s involved?

The Support for Physical Activity programme (SPA) is a free service, offered to students and staff of the University.  If you feel you would benefit from becoming a bit more active, but are perhaps lacking in confidence or motivation, then SPA can help you.  We will set you some goals, and provide free on-going support to help you overcome your barriers and achieve these.  To book your appointment all you have to do is contact
